How do I read the manufacturing or expiry date on Korean cosmetics?

SHORT ANSWER

Look on the back or bottom of the box. A date after MFD, MFG or M is when it was made, and a date after EXP is when it expires, written year, month, day: MFD20240701 means made on July 1, 2024. Olive Young stores cannot tell you expiry dates before you visit.

01

What to do now

  1. Turn the box over and look for MFD, MFG, M or EXP followed by eight digits.
  2. Read the digits as year (4), month (2), day (2).
  3. If you are buying several of the same item, compare the dates on each box.
02

Who owns the resolution

The manufacturer prints the dates. Stores can only show what is on the box.

Evidence to prepare

  • Your account email or user ID
  • Screenshots or a confirmation number for the specific order/booking/transaction

Why this policy exists

OLIVE YOUNG Global's help center (updated September 10, 2026) explains the labels:

· Manufacturing date: MFD, MFG or M, followed by year, month and day. Example: MFD20240701 = made July 1, 2024.

· Expiry date: EXP followed by year, month and day. Example: EXP20270701 = use by July 1, 2027.

Olive Young's Korean store FAQ says it cannot give expiry or manufacturing dates for store stock in advance, so check the box in the store. For OLIVE YOUNG Global orders, you can send a photo of the printed date through a 1:1 inquiry if you have a question.
