Can tourists get a tax refund at Olive Young in Korea?

Yes, at its main stores. Olive Young says foreigners who show their passport and spend ₩15,000 or more can pay the price with VAT already taken off (immediate tax refund) at major stores. It does not publish a list of which stores offer it, so ask before you pay.

What is Olive Young's return policy for items bought in-store?

Within 15 days of purchase, for unopened items, with the receipt and the card you paid with. Refunds are only possible at the store where you bought it. Exchanges for an item of the same price can be done at any nearby store except outlet stores.

Can I return an Olive Young purchase at a different store?

You can exchange it there, but not get a refund. Olive Young only refunds at the store of purchase because each store is registered as a separate business. Any nearby store except outlet stores can exchange it for an item of the same price within 15 days.

I opened the box but never used it. Can I still return it to Olive Young?

Usually not. Olive Young's FAQ says that once the case has been opened, even without use, the item cannot be resold, so exchanges and refunds are difficult. Defects and skin reactions follow separate routes.

Why is the same product a different price at another Olive Young store?

Olive Young says prices can differ by store because of local competition and new store openings, promotions that run only online or only in stores, and discounts tied to partner payment methods. OLIVE YOUNG Global runs its own promotions too.

Is Olive Young Global the same as Olive Young stores in Korea?

No, they are run separately. OLIVE YOUNG Global ships only outside Korea, its membership benefits cannot be used in Korean stores, and its promotions and products can differ. For a problem with a store purchase, the store or Olive Young's Korean customer center is the direct route.

How much is shipping from OLIVE YOUNG Global, and which countries does it ship to?

Shipping is free on orders over USD 60 (¥3,900 for Japan). Below that, a USD 25 fee is added (¥500 for Japan, USD 5 for Malaysia and Singapore). The country list is in the flag menu on the site; Spain, Brazil and India were among the countries not served when checked.

Can I return something I ordered from OLIVE YOUNG Global?

Only if it is defective, damaged or the wrong item, and you contact customer service within 30 days of delivery. Change of mind, used products, ordering mistakes and colour or option changes are not accepted, and there are no exchanges. When a return is approved, Global pays the costs.

Will I pay customs duties on an OLIVE YOUNG Global order?

Possibly. Global says the customer is the importer and pays any duties, VAT or GST in their country. For the US, duties are charged at payment: 10% for orders paid from February 24, 2026, down from 15%. Duties already paid are not refunded by Global.

Does Olive Young have English-speaking staff and English signs in Korea?

Olive Young says it manages over 110 stores in places like Myeong-dong, Hongdae, Gangnam, Busan and Jeju as "global tourist district" stores, with staff who speak English, Japanese or Chinese and product names and promotions shown in English. Some Seoul stores added a voice AI shopping assistant in 8 languages in June 2026.

How do I read the manufacturing or expiry date on Korean cosmetics?

Look on the back or bottom of the box. A date after MFD, MFG or M is when it was made, and a date after EXP is when it expires, written year, month, day: MFD20240701 means made on July 1, 2024. Olive Young stores cannot tell you expiry dates before you visit.
